Alcoeur Apron's Mini Caprese Skewers


You will need 32 4-inch bamboo skewers, or something similar. We took normal skewers and cut them into 4-inch pieces. Extra long toothpicks would work as well.

  • 8 ounce container of pearl size mozzarella balls (~100 per container)

  • 2 pints cherry tomatoes, halved

  • 1 large bunch fresh basil leaves

  • Extra virgin olive oil

  • Salt and fresh ground black pepper

Optional Add-ons

  • Pitted kalamata olives, halved

  • thinly sliced prosciutto or salami

  • Balsamic reduction, for drizzle at end


  1. Thread the ingredients onto the skewers in alternating patterns: mozzarella ball, tomato, basil, mozzarella, tomato, basil, etc. Alternate in additional items if available: basil, mozzarella, tomato, prosciutto, olive, etc.

  2. Once all skewers are fitted to your liking, lay them on a platter. Drizzle them generously with olive oil, season liberally with salt and pepper, and finish with a gently drizzle of the balsamic reduction.

  3. Serve and enjoy!
